WLAN Network disconnects any time I attempt to download some data

Asked by Anirudh Kanabar

I have attempted to follow the guide - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WirelessTroubleshootingProcedure

For debugging this issue. Any time I visit https://fast.com or attempt to download anything bigger than 10 MB of data, my computer completely slows down.

I have a brand new MSI 13 AI EVO laptop with an Intel core ultra 7 155H, I highly doubt downloading a 100 MB file should bring a machine to a crawl.

Moreover, the network basically disconnects, until I restart NetworkManager

This is the terminal output from the debugging steps

Please do note, there seems to be no issue with my Router or Access points since my other devices (phone, other PCs) seem to be working fine, while my new laptop simply seems to not be able to access the internet till I run

sudo service NetworkManager restart

Try:

echo "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi_fix.conf > /dev/null

Reboot to test. If this is no better or there are issues then you can roll back the change with:

sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi_fix.conf

Then reboot again

Can you help with this problem?
