booting Acer Evo with Ubuntu installed causes a 'secure boot failuer'. Anyone got a solution?

Asked by Colin John Wilson

This problem seems to be known on the internet, but I have not seen a solution.
If you set the boot menu (accessed by F2) when it is working to 'secure boot' disabled it works for a while. But secure boot get re-activated automatically after a number (less than 100) of switch-offs and starts and there is no easy cure, but shops can do it.
Apparently this problem is not common for Windows users.

Is this a dual boot system or is Ubuntu the only OS on the system?

Hi Yeonguk

I am having difficulty with this now. because the computer where I found it has had to be returned as defective under warranty.

But there was no way that I could get to the menu's normally available through F2. Actually i suspect that the computer had a fault that kept switching on the secure boot without the operator doing it.

Thanks for your interest in this.

Regards

Colin
