pcieport 0000:00:08.1: PME: Spurious native interrupt!

Getting the above error flooding my syslog. How do I fix this? I see no outwardly visible problems. Here are my system details:

This is a brand new HP VIctus 15L desktop with 16Gb RAM, a 2 tB NVMe SSD as the only internal storage, on which only Ubuntu is installed, as above.

What is the output of:

lspci -vv -t|grep 08

This shold show the offending device

I had attempted to connect a 2 tB SATA drive as a secondary but the system wouldn't boot so I disconnected both the power and SATA data cables and left the drive in the mount. Why should that cause the PCIe error? Why would strapping the cables back where they were clamped by the manufacturer make any difference?

I still get this message flooding syslog. How would a loose SATA cable cause this? Should I unplug the cable from the motherboard? BTW, it is an ERICA B board.
